On the third day of Navratri, 12th October 2018, Goddess Chandraghanta is worshipped for peace, tranquility and prosperity in life. She is also known as Chandrakhanda, Chandika or Rannchandi and is depicted as having a half-moon on her forehead and holding her eight hands a Trishula (trident), Gada (mace), Billu-Banu (bow-arrow), Khadg (sword), Kamala (lotus flower), Ghanta (bell) and Kamandal (waterpot), while one of her hands remains in Abhayamudra / blessing. She symbolises beauty, bravery and grace.
On the fourth day of Navaratri, 13th October 2018, Goddess Kushmunda is worshipped. She is depicted with eight to ten hands holding a Trishul (trident), Chakra (discus), Khadga (sword), hook, Gada (mace), Bana (bow), Billu (arrow) and two jars of honey Amrit (Elixir) and blood. Her one hand is always on abhayamudra from which she blesses all her devotees. She rides on a tiger. When the universe was non-existent and darkness prevailed everywhere, Maa Kushmanda produced the Cosmic egg, bringing light to the universe. Kushmanda has the power and strength to live in the core of Sun and her luminosity gives the Sun its brightness.

Her complexion is white and she is seated on the lotus, so she is also called Goddess with a lotus-seat (Padmasana).
